Playa Matapalo
Playa Matapalo is on the located on the southernmost point of the Gulf of Papagayo.
This tiny beach town is home best known for the famous Riu Hotel. Unlike many neighboring beaches in Guanacaste, there is very little construction, making it an ideal bucolic getaway. The translucent water and steady ocean breezes are perfect for scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing and sailing.
